After an uneventful first forty minutes the second period delivered and the Dragons look to have won the game courtesy of a Tom Riley try. But a defensive error late on gifted Glasgow the lead before Tovey struck with the final play.Â
Ruaridh Jackson kicked his side ahead after five minutes and that was how the scores remained until half-time
Jackson doubled Glasgow’s advantage at the start of the second period before Steffan Jones opened the Dragons account minutes later.
Jackson and Tovey then exchanged further kicks at the posts before Tom Riley squeezed in at the corner for the hosts.
The Dragons controlled possession and territory throughout the second forty minutes and Riley’s try looked to have clinched only their third win of the season in the PRO12.
But replacement fly-half Scott Wight struck for the visitors with just six minutes remaining as he refused to give up on his kick downfield and slid into score with Dragons flanker Lewis Evans failing to cover.
Wight’s conversion struck the posts leaving the Dragons just three points adrift and Tovey then levelled things up with his second penalty with the last kick of the game.
