The Newport Gwent Dragons ended their Amlin Challenge Cup campaign with a 12-24 victory over Mogliano in Italy.

Lyn Jones’ side were unable to qualify for the latter stages but came from behind to claim a win ahead of the LV = Cup swinging into action.

The Rodney Parade outfit went into the break 9-3 behind as Nicolo’ Fadalti kicked three penalties and Nathan Buck was yellow carded for the visitors.

Steffan Evans kicked two penalties to level things up at the start of the second half and from there on in, the Dragons kicked on.

A score from Wayne Evans put them ahead before Ross Wardle’s try was converted by Kris Burton. The Italian pivot also added a penalty as Mogliano ended the game with 13 due to two yellow cards.
