Phil Davies’ side had fly half Gareth Davies to thank, his late penalty earning a share of the spoils.

Mat Berquist had put Treviso into an early 3-0 lead but the Blues hit back with a converted try from Chris Czekaj.

Davies and Berquist kept the scoreboard moving with two penalties apiece before Robin Copeland added a second try for the Blues.

Alessandro Zanni and Edoardo Gori replied for Treviso but both teams had to settle for a draw.

While the Blues were without a host of internationals, Treviso fielded most of their key men. Young guns Ellis Jenkins and Owen Jenkins both made their PRO12 debuts but despite their inexperience, the Blues moved into a decent first half lead.

The visitors led 20-9 at the break via scores from Czekaj and Copeland but the Italians roared back into things.

And at the end, the Blues were reliant on Davies to earn them a draw.
