The Italians led at half-time despite Kristian Dacey’s early effort but a Sam Hobbs second-half try sealed the triumph.
The Blues made an impressive start in blustery conditions at the Arms Park and Gareth Davies booted them into the lead on 13 minutes.
They kept the ball into hand due to the strong wind with Davies and Dan Fish looking particularly threatening in attack.
A Dan Fish grubber laid the foundations for the game’s opening try. Brendan Williams took the ball over the line and despite Treviso’s best efforts the Blues hounded them from the scrum.
And following several phases Dacey crossed the whitewash with Davies converting.
Treviso dominated the territorial battle due to the conditions and Matt Berquist chipped away at the hosts’ lead with a pair of penalties.
And they edged themselves into the lead just before half-time with a converted try from Michele Campagnaro.
With the wind now at their backs the Blues dominated the opening exchanges of the second-half but errors at critical moments let them down.
Andries Pretorius looked to have put the Blues back in front but Dan Fish’s pass was ruled forward.
But the full-back made amends with a dazzling break that laid the foundations for Hobbs to drive over. Davies converted but failed to stretch the hosts lead further with a pair of missed penalties.
