Simon Easterby’s side go into their contest with the Irish province on the back of two impressive wins over Leicester Tigers and Connacht.

Following the 25-15 win over Connacht, Easterby has rewarded the team who secured the win at Parc y Scarlets and again puts faith in the young half back partnership of Owen Williams and Aled Davies.

But he does bring in Williams with the Waunarlwydd product starting on the wing in one of three changes. The others see the fully fit Gareth Maule start at centre while South African tight head prop Jacobie Adriaanse returns to the starting line-up.

“We’ve not made many changes to the starting line up that won against Connacht, the boys that worked hard deserve their chance again and it’s important to try and get some continuity in the team for this block of rugby,” said Easterby.

“It’s tight at the top of the league table so this game is a huge one for both sides as it’s a chance to take points away from each other.

“We knew how important the four league games were going to be for our season and it was a good start last weekend.

“But there’s still a lot of work to do and we have to back that up with a performance this weekend.”

Munster have won five of their last six contests in all competitions but the Scarlets have the chance to complete their first double over the Munstermen since 2003/04 following their 13-6 at Musgrave Park earlier this season.

Easterby’s men have prepared for tomorrow’s clash with a training camp in Pembrokeshire and he says his side are ready for the challenge.

“We’ve had a very positive week’s preparation. It’s important that we take ourselves out of the comfort zone and we challenged the boys physically and mentally after a good win at the weekend,” he added.

“It was a good way to prepare for this game. We got plenty out of it from a rugby and team perspective.”
