Sam Lewis will hit a half century of appearances for the region after being named on the blindside flank, with Justin Tipuric selected at openside and Dan Baker at No8.
Wales halfbacks Dan Biggar and Rhys Webb continue their partnership after the latter returned from an ankle injury last Friday, while Fijian wing Aisea Natoga will be looking to add to the hat-trick of tries he scored against the Blues a week ago.
Aaron Jarvis is again chosen ahead of fellow Wales tighthead Adam Jones, with the veteran British & Irish Lions tourist among the replacements as the Ospreys aim to halt a run of four straight away defeats in all competitions.
Victory for the Ospreys would see them build on the four-point cushion they currently have over the Warriors, but defeat would leave them with an uphill struggle to make the final four given that the Scots have two games in hand.
“This is a massive game for us and the group are under no illusions of the size of the task ahead over next couple of months,” said Ospreys boss Steve Tandy.
“We are in fourth place at the moment but Glasgow are breathing down our necks with a couple of games in hand, which makes it more important than ever that are on top of our game in all areas. Every player will need to know their role, pay attention to detail and be clinical in everything they do. There is absolutely no margin for error if we want to keep hold of a play-off spot so we know what we’ve got to do.
“It’s all building up to be a really exciting end of season and we want to be involved right until the end. We realise that there is a lot of expectation on our shoulders being the only team from Wales in the mix again, but that comes with being an Osprey and the boys have to stand up when the pressure is on.”
Glasgow make three changes to the side that beat the Scarlets last time out, with centre Finn Russell, hooker Pat MacArthur and lock Leone Nakarawa all starting.
Scotland fly half Duncan Weir and veteran Lion Chris Cusiter form an impressive halfback partnership and Fijian flyer Niko Matawalu will be a major threat from the left wing after his man-of-the-match display against Simon Easterby’s side.
Lions wing Sean Maitland continues his recover from long-term injury with a spot on the bench, while Scotland back rower Ryan Wilson is also among the replacements for a fixture head coach Gregor Townsend has described as the ‘biggest game of the season so far’.
“It was an important win for us last weekend because Scarlets were one place below us in the league and on Friday we play the team that are one place above us, so this is a crucial game,” said Townsend.
“Ospreys are a very physical side with a number of good playmakers in their backs so we’ll have to be at our best defensively. Like any game against a top side, we’ll have to seize any opportunity that comes our way.”
