The Liberty Stadium region are out of the Anglo-Welsh tournament but can still have an impact, with Bath still chasing a last-four spot. They have slipped to defeats to Saracens, Gloucester and the Newport Gwent Dragons so far but are determined to chalk up their first win in the West Country.
Tandy has made seven changes to the side that slipped to a 32-25 defeat at Kingsholm last weekend. Josh Matevesi comes in for Ben John at inside-centre with fellow Fijian Aisea Natoga coming in for Wales Under-20 wing Dafydd Howells. Martin Roberts replaces Tom Habberfield at scrum-half.
Cai Griffiths is in for Dan Suter at tighthead prop and will be supported by Rhodri Hughes at lock. Sam Lewis and Joe Bearman come back into the side in a new look back-row.
Tandy said: “It’s going to be another big afternoon for this group and another stern test for the youngsters in the squad. There’s maybe a bit more experience in the 23 than last week, but we are still looking at a group of players who have to take the opportunity they are getting to show that the deserve to hold onto the jersey for the next few weeks while we are without our international representation and an injury list that is growing once again.
“We know what to expect from Bath. It’s a great club with real history, and there’s a sell out crowd for this game. Whatever team they send out we know that we will have to perform well as they have enviable strength in depth.
