The West Walians welcome last season’s beaten LV=Cup finalists to Llanelli in their first Anglo-Welsh clash of the campaign.
Myhill, a former Wales Under-20 captain, has found himself behind Ken Owens and international call-up Emyr Phillips in the Scarlets pecking order. But he is determined to bring the fight to the Saints in a bid to get more top-flight action.
He said: “We’re going to take the LV= Cup the same way as the league, for me any game is as important as each other and it’s at home as well which gives us extra motivation.
“I’m sure the young boys will be given a chance to play and I haven’t played too much either, it’s a big opportunity for us.
“There are two internationals ahead of me at Scarlets and I’m not getting as much game time as I’d have hoped, but that’s the way it is at the moment and I’m trying to push them as hard as I possibly can.”
The Scarlets will be boosted by their 15-3 European Champions Cup defeat of Leicester Tigers. Wayne Pivac’s men backed up the historic victory with a PRO12 win over Zebre to continue their early season resurgence.
But the Saints are in red-hot form. They opened their LV account last week with a 37-23 triumph over Newcastle Falcons.
They are flying-high at the top of the Aviva Premiership and have already claimed a Welsh scalp this season when George North scored four tries to rob Ospreys of their 100 per cent record in a 34-6 defeat.
But Myhill is determined to assert his first team credentials when the double-winning English side arrive on Friday night.
He said: ”Ken Owens is injured at the moment which is very unlucky for him, but I suppose it can be a bit of a blessing for me. I was injured for one game this year but it wasn’t too bad, so I’ve got a chance now and if I’m going to do well this season I have to show it in these games.”
