Director of Rugby Phil Davies wants the Cardiff Blues to end their Heineken Cup campaign on a high with a win over Sale.

The game at Cardiff Arms Park is still scheduled to go ahead with the ground staff working hard to clear the pitch of any overnight snow.

“Saturday’s match is one we want to win for our supporters. Every time we put the shirt on, especially at the Arms Park, it’s our responsibility,” said Davies.

“We want to try and create our own legacy now, making sure we build on all the great work some of the players and coaches have done here in the past. There is always something to every game we play and the players share that sentiment.”

Davies has made two changes for tomorrow’s game from the side which picked up a four try bonus point against Toulon last Saturday.

Lloyd Williams returns from suspension to start at scrum half with Lewis Jones moving to the bench. In the forwards, Scott Andrews starts in place of Benoit Bourrust in the front row.

Earlier in the competition, a hat trick from Alex Cuthbert failed to stop the Blues slipping to a high scoring defeat away to Sale and Davies is using the loss as motivation.

“Our Heineken Cup campaign started in Sale and it was a ridiculous game to lose,” he added. “We played well for 60 minutes, with a great team performance but didn’t get the result we wanted.

“Our position in the group obviously isn’t where we want to be. We want to be making the quarter-finals and challenging in the competition. At the moment, the reality is we are a young side and we are gaining valuable experience in all competitions.”

For the latest weather updates supporters are advised to look at the Cardiff Blues website and social media sites tomorrow morning.
