The Welsh region fell to a heavy 59-22 defeat to Leinster in Dublin last Saturday, a performance which Davies believes had few positives.
“It was clear for all to see that last weekend’s game against Leinster wasn’t a very positive night for us,” he said.
“We all knew when we started in June that it would be a massive challenge.
“Looking at the game we have ahead of us, Munster, regardless of what 15 they put on the pitch are going to be hard and uncompromising up-front.”
The Irish side have won their last two encounters against Edinburgh in the Heineken Cup and Zebre in the PRO12 but have lost their last four games on the road.
With his Welsh contingent in Spala, Poland as part of the national squad’s preparations for the Autumn series, Davies is forced into a number of changes.
Dan Fish comes back into the side and replaces Leigh Halfpenny at full-back. Jason Tovey continues at fly-half and is partnered by Lewis Jones while Robin Copeland starts at blindside flanker. Josh Navidi moves to the openside to cover the loss of Welsh captain Sam Warburton.
Gavin Evans partners Dafydd Hewitt at centre in the absence of Jamie Roberts.
The Blues have lost their last four encounters against the Irish province though Munster have not won at the Arms Park since 2005.
Munster head coach Rob Penney makes a number of changes himself. Ronan O’Gara starts at fly-half with Duncan Williams alongside him at half-back.
New Zealand flyer Doug Howlett starts on the wing with Felix Jones at full-back.
Up front, Marcus Horan is the one change in the front row while Tommy O’Donnell wears the No. 8 jersey for the first time at senior level.
Munster sit two places above the Blues in the PRO12 table and Davies has picked out one player he thinks will be a danger to his side’s defence tomorrow night.
“Casey Laulala is always a threat but we are looking forward to facing him on our home ground,” he added.
“Both sides have got a new coaching group who are trying to develop and change.
“Supporters can look forward to a very competitive match, as it always is against Munster.”
