Emanuel in at No 10 for Cardiff in SRC quarter final

Wales U20 centre Steff Emanuel switches to the No 10 jersey for table-topping Cardiff in their home Super Rygbi Cymru quarter final against Bridgend on Saturday 3 May.

The former Millfield School star is one of three current U20 caps to appear in the Cardiff back division, along with Elijah Evans and Tom Bowen, while Wales U18 international Lloyd Lucas is among the replacements.

Bridgend have Ospreys players Tom Florence and Lewis Jones in their starting XV as they seek to upset the odds at the Arms Park. Full back Edd Howley, centre Ryan Wilkins, outside half Ben Burnell, hooker Evan Yardley and flanker Zac O’Driscoll will all be playing against their former club.

Newport have Dai Richards and Lewis Lloyd fully fit to start against Aberavon at Newport Stadium, while Jac Lloyd continues at No 10 in the absence of the injured Matt O’Brien. Wales U20 full back Scott Delnevo starts for the Wizards, with his U20 international colleague Saul Hurley on the bench.

Llandovery have Scarlets locks Morgan Jones and Ed Scragg packing down together in their boiler house, while former Wales U20 full back Jac Davies is another regional player in their starting XV to face Pontypool. The Drovers are seeking to match their league and cup double triumph of last season having already secured the SRC Cup.

Their side to face Pooler shows only two changes in personnel from the side that beat Ebbw Vale to the first major trophy of the season. The visitors will have centre Pat Lewis hoping to mark his 100th game for the Gwent outfit with a win, while outside half Kieron Meek will be seeking to celebrate his call-up to play for the Barbarians later this month.

Ebbw Vale won’t have Wales U20 wing Harry Rees-Weldon available to play for them at Eugene Cross Park against wild card winners Carmarthen Quins after he was called up to the Dragons squad to travel to South Africa. Ewan Bowden takes his place, while Canadian international Sion Parry features in the back row.

The Quins show only one change from the starting line-up in north Wales last weekend when they beat RGC at Parc Eirias to reach the quarter finals. That is at centre, where Ryan Davies takes over from Osian Jones.
