Leaders Merthyr remain firmly in the box seat in the Admiral Premiership after picking up another bonus point win by defeating Bonymaen 59-31 at The Wern.

Full-back Jack Kathrens ran in a hat-trick to inspire the Ironmen to victory. Captain Ben Jones, flanker Cerith Lloyd, hooker Ellis Shipp, wing Fin Baker, centre Rhys Davies and replacement Kodi Stone also scored – Jones converted seven of their nine tries.

Wing Nathan Brooks, full-back Lawrence Thomas, centre Steff Pryce-Griffiths, hooker Zac Pearce and replacement scrum-half Gareth Andrew were the Bony scorers to earn them a try bonus point despite defeat, with Thomas adding the extras off the tee.

The win maintains Merthyr’s seven-point advantage over Pontypridd at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Narberth replied with tries by wing Dean James, scrum-half Lewys Gibby and centre Llew Jones with outside-half Osian Evans converting all three.

The Otters, who have two matches remaining, remain one place above the bottom two, although the bonus point for Bonymaen at Merthyr cut the gap from three points to two. Bony also have a game in hand on Narberth.
