Beddall and Minto chasing more glory at Rodney Parade

Harry Beddall will captain Wales U20 against Italy

Harry Beddall and Evan Minto will be back at Rodney Parade tonight (Wednesday 16 April) to try to repeat their heroics with Wales U20 when they turn out for Harptury College in the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship Final against Loughborough University.

The rising back row stars helped Wales to beat Ireland in an epic battle at the home of the ‘Men of Gwent’ in this year’s U20 Six Nations Championship and both have since signed contracts with Dragons RFC.

They were both key characters in Hartpury’s extra-time win over Cardiff Met in the semi-finals, Minto’s try sending the game into overtime. While Cardiff Met missed out on the final in the men’s final, their women turned over Hartpury to set-up a final against Loughborough.

A try from Wales international hooker Molly Reardon ensured that Met beat reigning champions Hartpury 19-12 away from home to book their ticket to the final. Coached by former Wales international Lisa Newton, Met will take on Loughborough side who ended as runners-up to Hartpury last year.

After two tightly contested semi-finals the final is set to be a close battle with only a point separating the sides when Loughborough hosted Met less than two months ago.

Cardiff Met Women: Morgan Burke; Hannah Lane, Freya Bell, Sav Picton-Powell. Gabby Healan; Nicole Marlow, Seren Singleton; Erica Kissinger, Rosie Carr, Elizabeth Cook, Erin Jones, Kaitline Hubbert, Catrin Stewart, Lucy Isaac, Jess Rogers (captain)
Reps:  Molly Reardon, Emily Joyce, Katie Carr, Robyn Davies, Danai Mugabe, Katie Bevans, Evie Loizos, Marie George
