There was little or no joy for the Dragons as they were beaten 38-5 by Edinburgh at The Hive Stadium to remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the BKT United Rugby Championship table.
A second half try from Wales back row star Aaron Wainwright were the only points Filo Tiatia’s side were able to muster, while Edinburgh plundered six of their own to put themselves back in the running for a play-off place with a full house of five points.
Edinburgh managed to secure a bonus-point before the break as they sped into a 26-0 lead with first-half tries from hooker Paddy Harrison (2), Scottish wing Darcy Graham and international prop Pierre Schoeman.
The Wainwright try seven minutes into the second half at least temporarily stemmed the flow of points, but that was as good as it got for the visitors. Without a win against Edinburgh in Scotland since March 2012 they went on to concede two more tries before the game ended.
The Dragons, without a league win since the opening day of the season against the Ospreys, will now turn their attention to Judgement Day at Principality Stadium on 19 April when they face Scarlets.
