Bryn Bradley displays the agony of losing a one point game.

It was 19-5 to Wales in the first half and 22-7 to New Zealand in the second. The proverbial game of two halves! Wales suffered through not being able to get any possession after the break, but overall it was a fantastic performance that showed much promise.

Sam Scarfe goes over and scores this time and Dan Edwards kicks the conversion to make it a one point game. What drama.

Teams are back out and Wales are now playing into the wind.

HALF-TIME – WALES 19 – 5 NEW ZEALAND (40 min)
What an opening half from Ryan Woodman’s Welsh side. Totally dominant after conceding a soft first try. Wales have been brilliant, New Zealand thoroughly disappointing when put under so much pressure. Big second half to come.

MORGAN MORSE YOU BEAUTY! – WALES 19 – 5 NEW ZEALAND (38 min)
Wales employ the driving line-out again, but this time spread the ball wide left. Cam Winnett almost reached the line, but sweeping up like a good No 8 was Morse who picked up the ball and dived over for a spectacular try. Edwards added the extras.

NO STOPPING THE WELSH LINE OUT – WALES 5 – 5 NEW ZEALAND (22 min)

Lewis Lloyd gets et to drive over

Bryn Bradley turns defence into attack with a great grub kick up the left touchline and this time Wales score while in the red zone. An offside penalty is kicked into the right corner and  a classic line-out drive ends in a try for hooker Lewis Lloyd. Dan Edwards pushed his conversion attempt wide.

WELSH PACK GETTING INTO THE GAME – WALES 0 – 5 NEW ZEALAND (15 min)Two great driving line-outs from Wales show the Baby Blacks they will have to contain the Welsh forwards and Morgan Morse is then held up over the line after charging forward. Wales went first and then we had the Kiwi anthem prior to their traditional Haka. Now we’re ready to get down to business. Remember, Wales won the last time these two teams met in the tournament and also beat the Baby Blacks in South Africa.

FRENCH WARNING

Reigning champions France, chasing a hat-trick of titles, ran in 11 tries in their 75-12 demolition of Japan in their opening game.
