The league leaders Pontypool made light of losing Jordan Williams with a foot injury early in the first half and were 22-0 ahead by the break. Matt Jones kicked a penalty and then converted tries from Kieran Meek and hooker Parry.
In between those two tries Lewis Prothero benefitted from a charge down of a Narberth clearance and the home side were sitting pretty. The second half was a much tighter affair as the Narberth defence held firm, conceding only one more try to a push over score from Jamie Jeune that Jones again converted.
Trebanos came out on top in the battle of the two promoted clubs to the WRU National Championship as they picked up a bonus point in a 31-20 triumph at Rhydyfelin. It was a third win of the season for the new boys and lifted them back into second place, level on points with Tata Steel, but eight points behind the reigning champions.
Matthew Edwards was the star of the show for the visitors with 16 points as he scored of the four tries and kicked 11 points. Morgan Evans, Tom Dew and Matthew Edwards crossed for the other tries.
Rhydyfelin found themselves trailing 14-3, but hit back to briefly take the lead thanks to tries from Gavin Close and Macauley Griffiths. It was 17-15 to Trebanos at the break after Edwards’ penalty and not even a third try from Jordan Rees to close the gap for the home side after the break.
Newbridge picked up only their second win of the season as they stunned the students at Cardiff Met with a 33-7 victory in Cyncoed. To be fair to the home side, their top team had played against Northumbria University in the BUCS Super League the night before, so they were well below strength.
Newcastle Emlyn had tries from Llyr Jones, Emrys Davies and Mikey Jones to thank for their 22-11 home win over Glynneath. They had to hit back from an 11-8 deficit to notch their second win of the season.
Tata Steel held off battling Beddau to win 20-15 to stay in touch at the top. Beddau, who had tries from centre Adam Ashford and wing Cody Baker with outside half Hywel Chatham kicking a conversion and penalty, slip to fourth.
Skewen pipped Bedlinog 23-22. Dan Parry scored 10 points for Bedlinog with a try, conversion and penalty and Liam Jenkins also grabbed a try.
