The three-times Wales Grand Slam winner will be meeting local rugby fans between 5 and 7pm at his nearby store, where tickets are on sale for the Dove Men Series games against Argentina and Samoa.
Over thirty Tesco stores across Wales are selling tickets for the home fixtures against the Pumas on Saturday 10 November and South Sea Islanders on Friday 16 November at their customer service desks.
At Merthyr’s Station Yard Extra store, Jones will be signing autographs and reminding fans to purchase their tickets with their shopping and avoid the booking fees and postal charges associated with other ticketing outlets.
Fans can watch Wales kick off their Autumn campaign against Argentina for £30 for adults and £10 for children (under 11). For the Friday evening fixture against Samoa, tickets are available at Tesco for adults at £25 and £10 for children.
The new WRU ticketing initiative – together with the sale of tickets at WRU member clubs – makes it more convenient than ever for rugby communities to get their hands on Millennium Stadium tickets.
“It’s fantastic that rugby fans can pick up tickets for the autumn internationals at their local Tesco store,” said Jones. “There’s a huge fan base here in Merthyr – I know that because I meet many of them each week while I’m out shopping with the family!
“I’m sure the tickets for Argentina and Samoa games will be extremely popular at Tesco with locals finding it more convenient and affordable to get to the game.”
Welsh rugby fans can also catch Ospreys Alun Wyn Jones at Tesco Extra Swansea Fforestfach and Scarlets Ken Owens in Tesco Haverfordwest tomorrow evening.
