Wales Under 20 coach Phil Davies wants his talented young side to pay more respect to the ball when they round off their Six Nations campaign against Italy at Cardiff Arms Park on Friday.
Davies saw his side fight back from 17 points down to score three tries and finally lose 24-17 against Ireland in Athlone. It was their second defeat in four matches in the championship and saw them slip further behind the Irish and England in the race for the title.
“I’m disappointed for the players, but they showed a lot of endeavor and effort to come back in the second half,” said Davies.
“Tactically we weren’t as smart as we could have been. We need to look after the ball a lot more and a lot better and become more clinical.”
