The Dragons open their Grand Slam defence  against Scotland at Murrayfield on February 8, before welcoming England to Cardiff for a St. Valentine’s day clash

And  Williams reckons Warren Gatland’s men are intent on keeping hold of their crown. He said: “The Six Nations is massively important to us. We’ve moved on from last year’s success in the Autumn internationals but now we want to kick on again.”

If you look at all the top sides they win things year in, year out and there’s no reason why we can’t be at that level too.

“There’s more to come from us. The coaches have only been in charge for 12 months and the squad is improving in each campaign with players like Andy Powell and Leigh Halfpenny coming from nowhere and stepping up to the mark.

“We’ve got a settled squad but it will be great to also welcome quality players like Mike Phillips, Gavin Henson and Jonathan Thomas back into the squad because I believe the Six Nations will be harder than last year.

“Scotland at Murrayfield on the opening weekend is the hardest draw we could have asked for and will be tougher than the opener versus England last season.

“No one believed we could go to Twickenham and win while this time everyone is expecting us to win – it’s a pressure we must handle.”
