The best 16 internationals sides at U20 level will begin their quest for glory next week (June 6th) with match action taking place in Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and Wrexham until the Championship final on June 22nd.
Tickets are available at £2 for children and £8 for adults for each individual match day, all of which include at least two top class rugby games. Venue packages which give entry to all 10 matches held at any one match venue are available at £8 for children and £30 for adults – or you can choose to follow any one team’s progress in the tournament for just £10 for children and £35 for adults.
People all over Wales will be able to see the future stars of the international game without venturing far from their homes. With the Pool stages seeing South Africa, Scotland, Samoa and the USA based in Wrexham, New Zealand, Ireland, Argentina and Tonga battling it out in Cardiff; Australia, England, Fiji and Canada entertaining crowds in Newport and Wales facing France, Italy and Japan in Swansea, there is something for everyone.
WRU Group Chief Executive Roger Lewis said: “The future stars of the world game will be literally on the doorstep of the majority of Welsh people. Whether you live close to Cardiff, Newport, Swansea or Wrexham, there will be a real feast of international rugby for all to enjoy and savour.
“The inexpensive tickets available allow this top class rugby tournament to be accessible to all. Individuals and families that may not ordinarily be regular rugby watchers can take the opportunity to come along and enjoy an entertaining afternoon or evening out for all the family.”
Rhodri Glyn Thomas, the Minister for Heritage said: “I’m delighted that the Welsh Assembly Government has been able to work with the Welsh Rugby Union to bring the inaugural Junior World Championship at U20 level to Wales. I hope that people in north, south, east and west Wales take the opportunity to see the world’s best young rugby talent on their own doorstep.”
