In the U14 competition, a very tight battle ensued with the Neath Athletic, Newport and Llandaff North all being in contention for the title right up to the final fixture.  With all three teams having one defeat to their names going into the deciding game between Neath Athletic and Llandaff North, the tension was high.  It was Neath that came out victorious, beating Llandaff North 14-5 and putting Newport into second place on points difference.

At U17 level, Neath were undefeated to win the competition, with Llandaff North coming in second.

Wales’ recent victory in the European 7s Championship is sure to have inspired the young players and with the exceptional amount of talent on show this weekend, the future looks very bright for Wales’ entry into the inaugural Women’s 7s World Cup in 2009.
