Munster Ready For Millennium Challenge

Munster will arrive in Wales at the end of the month with a Millennium mission following their 42-10 demolition of Ulster in the first Celtic League semi-final.
Having been pipped by Leicester Tigers in the Heineken Cup final at the Millennium Stadium last May, Jim Williams’ men will be seeking to put the record straight in the Celtic League final at the same venue on 1 February.
The Irish side have been the runners-up in their last three finals – the 2002 Heineken Cup final, the 2002 Celtic League final and the 2000 Heineken Cup final – and they don’t want to be the bridesmaids again in Wales.
There was only one score in it in last years two finals, 15-9 against Leicester and 24-20 against Leinster in the Celtic League final at Lansdowne Road, while they lost by a point, 9-8, to Northampton at Twickenham in the 2000 Heineken Cup final.
Whoever they meet out of Neath and Cardiff, the Irishmen will go into the game as firm favourites. They have won their last 11 games against Welsh opposition in the Heineken Cup and Celtic League, including a 35-19 win at Neath this season and a 51-10 home win over Cardiff last season.
You have to go back to 1 September, 2001 for the last time a Welsh club came out on top against the Munstermen – Neath , 30-22, at The Gnoll.
