Pontypool had last Saturday’s match at Beddau called off through bad weather, but they still lead the Welsh National League Division One. They will be home next Saturday against second-placed Carmarthen Quins.

Fly half Byron Hayward, who is almost certain to follow Neil Jenkins and Jason Williams later this month as the third player to score 2,000 league points, is proving the star turn for his club again this season.

Fiji’s squad include Simon Raiwalui of Newport and Emori Katalau of Narberth at lock, along with Neath flanker Alfie Mocelutu.

Fiji’s remaining tour matches are: – November 9: v Wales (at Cardiff,4.30pm);

November 17: v Ireland (at Dublin); November 20: v Scotland A;

November 24: v Scotland (at Murrayfield).
