Neath will delay naming their starting line-up for the Celtic League quarter-final battle with Pontypridd until Friday.

But the mind games have already started – earlier in the week Pontypridd coach Lynn Howells suggested the Welsh All Blacks will start this game as favourites.

But Neath coach Lyn Jones’ reply has done nothing to diffuse the bomb as the big match build-up gets into full swing.

“It is going to be a big occasion on Friday evening, and I am delighted that Lynn Howells has decided to make us favourites. I am sure the welcome at Sardis Road will be as warm as it always has been,” said Jones

And Neath scrum-half Andy Moore knows he will have to draw upon all his experience if he is to guide his side to victory.

“We must concentrate on doing what we do best, and not worry about the quality of the opposition.

“It is going to be a tough encounter and can almost be looked upon like a local derby. Pontypridd is never an easy place to go to, but I have always enjoyed playing there in front of what is usually a noisy full house.”

Former Wales international Moore knows all too well the mind games Howells is playing.

“All I can say about that it that whenever I’ve played

under Lynn (Howells) with Wales A, the opposition were always the

favourites in his eyes. I think we can take his comments with a pinch of salt.”

Neath squad: Adrian Durston, Allan Bateman, Dave Tiueti, Gareth Morris, Shane Williams, James Storey, Lee Jarvis, Shaun Connor, Andy Moore, Patrick Horgan, Steve Tandy, Nathan Bonner-Evans, Brett Sinkinson, Alfie Mocelutu, Hywel Jenkins, Lyndon Bateman, Andy Newman, Gareth Llewellyn (c) Andrew Millward, Adam Jones, Barry Williams, Steve Jones, Duncan Jones
