And joining the new black and amber in a 25-man Newport squad will be Welsh internationals Jason Jones-Hughes and Ian Gough, both of who are returning from long term injuries.

DFP – Leaderboard

Jones-Hughes last played in April, 2001 and has fought his way back to fitness after knee reconstruction. Gough, meanwhile, returns after a summer operation on his back. Also returning after injury are Wales A caps Jon Pritchard and Andy Powell.

“It will be great to finally get Percy onto the field. He has been straining at the leash since he arrived and was bitterly disappointed when the game against Swansea was called off,” said Newport head coach Leigh Jones.

“He wants to show the Newport public exactly what he is capable of and this fixture will be a nice way to introduce him to the fans. It will certainly be the price of admission to see one of the world’s great players in action.

“We have arranged three games this week, all of which will be vital in our build-up to the Heineken Cup clashes with London Irish next month.

“The first-team will travel to play Cambridge University on Saturday, while the rest of the squad will join forces with the Under21s to form a Newport United team to tackle London Welsh Druids at Rodney Parade on the same day.

“I’m delighted that so many of our long term injury victims are now set to return to action. We are keeping our fingers crossed for Jason Jones-Hughes because he has suffered more than most.

“Jason has worked incredibly hard to get back into the game following a knee injury that could so easily have ended his career. He never gave up and it is a huge credit to his desire to play for Newport again that he is fit to pull on the jersey again.”

Missing from the squad for Tuesday night are Newport’s international trio of Andy Marinos (Wales), Simon Raiwalui (Fiji) and Rod Snow (Canada). Other than that, Leigh Jones and Richard Hill are looking to give all their top players an outing.

Swansea coach John Connolly will bring 28 players with him, although Welsh stars Colin Charvis and Ben Evans won’t be among them. Also ruled out are Scott Gibbs, Mark Taylor and Kevin Morgan.
