Jenks Not Fully Fit

Neil Jenkins admits that he will not be fully fit until September or October at the earliest.
However, the record-breaking fly-half is ready and willing to answer a selection call from Steve Hansen this weekend.
Providing all 26 of Hansen’s squad are fit and available, Jenkins is likely to start Saturday’s first Test against South Africa in Bloemfontein, on the bench.
He adopted that role for the uncapped international against the Barbarians last week and is ready to do so once more.
“I am tired and stiff and to be honest I can’t see myself being fully match fit for another three or four months,” said Jenkins.
“Having said that, if Steve wants me to start, then I will. I just hope that Stephen and co. stay fit so I can continue to ease my way back into things.
“You have to remember that I have not played too much rugby over the last 10 months because of injury. I am still taking it a day as a time. It’s the best way.”
The good news for Jenkins and Hansen is that Andy Marinos, who limped out of the Barbarians game with an ankle injury, trained in Cape Town yesterday and should be fit to take his place in the starting line up.
Team manager Alan Phillips said, “Andy came through ok and we will monitor his progress over the next couple of days. At the moment it looks as though we have a full squad from which to choose.
