Cardiff Crush Newport Title Dream

Cardiff RFC kept their season alive with a thrilling comeback to break Newport hearts at Rodney Parade last night.
Rudy Joubert publicly stated that he now believes his side are capable of winning the Welsh/Scottish League for the second time in three seasons. Newport in contrast have seen their season fall apart in recent weeks. From leading the league with games in hand, they now trail League leaders Neath by five points.
It ever there was a game of two halves then this was it. The Black and Ambers seemed to be in complete control at half time as they went in 14- nil to the good – courtesy of a drop goal and two penalties from Shane Howarth, and a Matt Mosytn try.
Joubert must have put something in the interval refreshments because it was a different Cardiff side that turned out in the second half. Anthony Sullivan and centre Jamie Robinson scored second half tries, and Iestyn Harris slotted over a penalty making the final score 17-14 to Cardiff.

Cardiff have now beaten Newport three times this season, and if Cardiff can win all their remaining games this season, including the big one- an away tie at Llanelli- they will take the title.
