John started playing rugby in 2014 while at Swansea University studying for a Materials Engineering degree, where Wales captain Siwan Lillicrap was her first coach.
She left her post as a physics teacher at Ysgol y Gwendraeth to become a full time professional rugby player.
John made her international debut against Scotland in 2018.
